- Feed DescriptionWhen we started the design direction for the GEL-KAYANO™ LITE 2 running shoe, our first question was, "How can we make it more sustainable?" As its namesake suggests, this shoe produces a lighter and softer cushioning experience with less impact on the environment. The engineered mesh upper is formed with more than 60% recycled materials and fewer overlays. It's designed to target key support zones and increase stability. Our design inspiration for becoming more sustainable continues onto the midsole. The FLYTEFOAM™ cushioning compound is made from organically derived materials that help create a softer touchdown. Meanwhile, the gender-specific 3D SPACE CONSTRUCTION™ feature is tuned for improving compression and addressing gait differences. This shoe’s sole creates full-ground contact and keeps overpronation at bay while forming a solid foundation. Full-ground contact also leads to a smoother heel to toe transition.
